Another Fantastic Four member rumored to join Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals is turning out to be a smash hit, with the game concurrently reaching over 400,000 players on it release day. The re-imagination of Marvel characters in a hero-shooter format can be one of the factors that contributed to its success.

Building upon this, the developers are looking to introduce more characters to the game's roster. With Mister Fantastic and Human Torch already leaked, yet another member of the Fantastic Four is now touted to join the ranks.

The Thing is rumored to join the Marvel Rivals roster: Everything we know so far

According to an X post from data miner @RivalsLeaks, Artwork showcasing The Thing was found in the game files while data mining. We now have leaked artworks of three out of the four members of the Fantastic Four set to join the Rivals roster.

The leaked character design of The Thing shares a resemblance with the Fantastic Four Future Foundation series. He has the team logo on his blue and white shorts. The character, if introduced to the game, will most likely belong to the Vanguard class in Marvel Rivals.

There is a high possibility that the entire F4 cast will be introduced in Season One of Marvel Rivals. That said, the release may be delayed so that it coincides with the new Fantastic Four movie set to release in July 2025. Interestingly, Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman), has yet to be data mined.

For now, there are 33 characters present in the game, each divided into three classes — Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. Looking at the F4 roster, it can be speculated that The Thing will join Vanguard, Mister Fantastic and Human Torch as Duelists, and The Invisible Woman as a Strategist.

The game is out now globally for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
