Apex Legends Season 17 Arsenal went live on May 9, 2023, and introduced tons of new in-game content across all available platforms. However, the seasonal update inadvertently introduced a new wave of bugs and issues with maps and legends that negatively affect players' performance in matches and the game's overall quality.
Before the Apex Legends Threat Level Event starts on May 23, the game's developers took to their social media to address a patch on Monday, May 22, which tackles some major issues players have faced since the beginning of Season 17 Arsenal. The developers had identified these issues and also updated their status on the Apex Legends Trello board.

The seventeenth season of Apex Legends, codenamed Arsenal, features all-new content, including the brand-new legend Ballistic, revamped Ranked System, and a massive overhaul to the Firing Range. Additionally, Weapon Mastery challenges and rewards, new bundles in the Store, and plenty of weapon balancing and legends adjustments have been added, as mentioned in the patch notes.
The May 22 Client Patch for Apex Legends went live on all available platforms and is intended to fix some glaring bugs and gameplay problems that Respawn Entertainment had worked on for the past few weeks. Let us take a look at the fixes, along with the May 22 Client Patch update:
Wraith can no longer use weapons while knocked
One of the prominent issues that affected players in not only normal but ranked battle royale was a bug where players playing as Wraith were able to use their firearms even after being knocked down. This massively affected gunfights as it provided an unfair advantage.
A similar bug persisted during the early days of Apex Legends that was soon fixed, in which players using any legend could wield their weapon after being knocked down.
Brightness on World's Edge has been adjusted
Season 17 Arsenal introduced many exciting changes to World's Edge with new POIs (points-of-interest) and loot updates. While these were all welcome alterations, the season also introduced unintended visual noise that affected players' visibility.
The sun, featured with the updated World's Edge skybox, was too bright for players, obstructing their vision when facing the sky or in the sun's direction. The latest patch addresses this issue and fixes the brightness levels on World's Edge for better picture quality.
Seer can no longer track through Dark Veil with his ultimate
One of Catalyst's expected abilities was to block enemy scans and enemy tracking through her ultimate, the Dark Veil. This was featured during the Season 15 trailer but wasn't implemented in the live game.
The Dark Veil was supposed to block Seer's ultimate, Exhibit, which created a sphere of micro-drones that provided real-time tracking of enemy footsteps and locations. While the Season 17 patch notes mentioned this fix, it was removed as it wasn't completely ready.
With the May 22 Client Patch, Catalyst can now block Seer's ultimate through her Dark Veil, and Respawn wishes to investigate this issue for other recon legends. The developer mentioned:
"The team is reviewing other abilities as well."
Apex Legends Season 17 Arsenal is now live on PC (via Steam and the EA App), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch.
