Apex Legends has become one of the biggest Battle Royale game in just a few weeks. The game has more than 25 million players playing the game. It has become the first Battle Royale which has the potential to bring down reigning titans of the Battle Royale genre, Fortnite Battle Royale and PUBG. In a recent investors meeting, we saw the CEO of EA enlighten everyone about the mobile version of Apex Legends being in development.
Andrew Wilson said that they were looking for a possible way to bring Apex Legends mobile and cross-play to the gaming community as soon as possible. He even mentioned how lucrative the Asian market is for a Battle Royale game developer. We have seen PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale earn millions from their Asian audience. Similarly, EA as a corporation is trying to get hold of the Asian market with Apex Legends Mobile and Cross-Play.
Apex Legends Cross-Play will highly likely release with the mobile version of the game. That would give an edge to the developers in terms of sales. Cross Play will enable the players distributed across different platforms like Xbox, PC and PS4 (including the mobile platform or which the game will be released in the near future) play together.
It doesn't matter on which platform you are, you can enjoy the game with your friends and family across multiplatform. We have already seen Fortnite implement the cross-play feature. The cross-play feature will help in keeping cosmetics and other achievements across all the platforms.
The same goes for the Cross-Server matchmaking, though the game does not require the feature right now. As Apex Legends has millions of players concurrently playing the game, it helps in lesser matchmaking time. Its good to get a variety of audience play against each other and improve their skills.
