Respawn's Apex Legends has been an out of nowhere hit in the gaming community. The developer hit a home run when they combined the massively addicting battle royale mode with a hero shooter, blending two genres into one incredibly entertaining multiplayer masterpiece.
Now being titled the "Fortnite Killer", Apex Legends has already reached a player count of twenty-five million people. It also continues to stay near the top of the charts on Twitch, only ever dropping from the #1 spot for the occasional tournament. And it only looks to be picking up steam as we move onward through 2019.
Throughout the year, Respawn will be bringing new content to the game through new weapons, special modes, and vehicles. However, we'll also be seeing some new characters, one sooner than we originally thought. According to some data mining, it looks like Apex Legends is getting ready for the release of a new hero, Octane.
According to WeGotThisCovered, Octane may be some kind of support character, similar to Lifeline, as there seems to be a file associated with it called "Stim." It's assumed that this could be a Stimpack. In various games, Stimpacks have been used to heal, like in the Fallout series, or, in Respawn's Titanfall 2, as a speed boost.

Another character revealed through the data-mine, apparently named Wattson, was also revealed. It seems that he'll be some kind of trapper, like Caustic, though he may require more set up, it looks like. Wattson's active ability seems to be something called a Tesla Trap, though what that means at this point is unknown.
We don't know exactly when Octane or Wattson will be making their debut in the Apex Games, we can assume that it will be relatively soon.
