Apex Legends Season 17 went live on May 9, 2023, introducing the brand new legend called Ballistic into the game. The seventeenth season, codenamed Arsenal, features this old veteran bringing out his refined gunslinging skills to Apex Legends and showing his competitors what it feels like facing a seasoned fighter. The latest season of Apex Legends also brings tons of new in-game content, including an all-new Firing range, a revamped Ranked System, updates to World's Edge, and Weapon Mastery challenges and rewards.

There's also an exotic new battle pass, legend balancing and weapon adjustments, and plenty more.

August Montgomery Brinkman, going by the name Ballistic, was the first star of the Thunderdome Games, the precursor to the Apex Games. He was an instant fan favorite courtesy of his reckless and self-centered playstyle, going to any extent to secure a victory.

However, an unfortunate incident would soon leave him grief-stricken, abandoning the Thunderdome games and living a secluded life all to himself.

Ballistic's lore was revealed in a dedicated episode of Apex Legends' long-running animated feature, Stories from the Outlands, called Encore. The launch trailer for Season 17 Arsenal showcased his real motive to join the Apex Games. Whether it is to reclaim his lost fame or for a more personal reason, Ballistic doesn't shy away from dealing with lethality against his competitors.

With the introduction of every new legend comes an extensive selection of in-game cosmetics for players to unlock using Crafting Materials or Apex Coins, the game's premium currency. Fake Out (Default): Ballistic pulls out his tactical ability, the Whistler, and shoots it away from his downed target and walks away, the projectile already locked on and hitting the target, eliminating them.
