Background Check in Escape from Tarkov: How to complete and rewards

Background Check is one of the easiest early-wipe Escape from Tarkov missions, as players only have to reach Level 2 to unlock it. To complete the quest, players must go to Customs and finish all the task objectives. Since it is an early-wipe quest, the objectives are not as hard. So, players can easily finish the mission without much issue.

Background Check in Escape from Tarkov has two objectives:

• Find and acquire the Bronze pocket watch on a chain on Customs.
• Hand the pocket watch over to Prapor after extracting.

Before going to where the Bronze pocket watch is, you have to acquire a key that's required to open a door. Since the key spawns on the same map, you have to take a detour to the three-story dorm. Therefore, prepare yourself, get all the necessary gear, and start matching for a Customs raid.

After spawning, immediately head to the three-story dorm. When you arrive at the building, go to the second floor. There, navigate to “dorm room 205” a.k.a the room that has the bed coming out of it. Once there, climb onto the bed and vault over the end to go inside the room. You have to crouch first. If not, you won’t be able to go into the room.

Inside the room, interact and search the jacket on the left side of the right wall to acquire the “Machinery key,” which you need to open the front door of the truck at the old construction site.

Now that you have the key, go to the aforementioned area (old construction site). From the three-story dorm, you have to head north till you reach Skeleton. Then, take a right turn and walk straight until you reach the construction site, where you’ll see a white tanker truck.

Climb the small box near the tanker truck’s front door and use the Machinery key to open it. The Bronze pocket watch will be below the front seat. Interact while looking at the watch to obtain it. Now, run towards the extract point as you’ll lose the quest item (Bronze pocket watch) if you die with it. After extracting, hand the item over to Prapor by going to the mission tab from the Traders section.

Completing Background Check in Escape from Tarkov will allow you to acquire the following rewards:

• Experience: 1,800
• Prapor Reputation: +0.03
• Roubles: 15,000 (15,750 and 17,250 Roubles with Intelligence Center Levels 2 and 3, respectively)
• SKS carbine: 1x
• 7.62x39mm FMJ 20-round ammo pack: 3x
