Revealed as one of the World Premiere trailers at Day of the Devs 2024, Battle Vision Network is a beautiful 1 vs. 1 puzzle battler. It will have seasonal twists, unique characters, a ranking system, and plenty of challenges. This multiplayer strategy game is being published by Netflix. It will be available on PC and mobile devices, as a part of Netflix Gaming.
The crux of the gameplay is simple enough. Pieces will hit the board. Matching pieces vertically creates an attacking move, and horizontal matches are defensive. You can even put into play larger-than-life, charismatic captains who can help turn the tide of battle for you. A few of these were shown off in the trailer. Each of these appear to represent a different faction:
- Stabdriel: The Holy Rollers
- Kawai Baby: The Mascot Rejects
- Illusio: The Magicks
- Rainbow Sparkle: The Mascot Rejects
- Astra: The Magicks
- Shredd: The Ragtags
Putting together combos in the right place at the right time looks to be key to winning in Battle Vision Network, but this Day of the Devs 2024 also has those captains to worry about. In the trailer, larger units could be seen barreling over to the enemy side to wipe out several units at once.
Not much is known about the game presently, other than the fact that it will be coming to PC and Netflix in 2025 and that it’s a deep, customizable strategy puzzle battler. Fans of Grindstone and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes will recognize and appreciate the gameplay on offer.
The gameplay looks interesting, and the aesthetic is certainly unique. It is one of the many games revealed during Summer Game Fest 2024 that have a great deal of promise and potential.
