Players can now access Battlefield 2042 Leviathan Rising, the mid-season event that commences on July 23, 2024, and concludes on August 6, 2024. Unlike the previous Leviathan feature, this season has brought several positive changes, offering players some free Legendary permanent rewards they can earn by collecting Ribbons. Additionally, a new mode has been introduced to make the event more engaging and competitive.

All Battlefield 2042 Leviathan Rising event rewards and how to get
Players can earn free in-game cosmetics during the said event by accumulating Ribbons. They can get the Ribbons by playing the Shutdown 12v12 mode, which now features new mechanics. This system allows players to play as both Attackers and Defenders.

The objective of attackers is to plant the Lance, which is a portable microwave device that fries data drives in a limited radius. On the other hand, the defenders have to disable the Lance within a limited time. Successful players will be rewarded with Ribbons.

Once enough Ribbons are collected, they can be redeemed for the following rewards:
- 30 Ribbons - Epic “Cloud Broker” Vehicle Skin for the RAH-68 Huron
- 60 Ribbons - Epic “Mastermind” Specialist Set for Irish
- 90 Ribbons - Legendary “Terminal Access” Weapon Skin for the M5A3
In the previous Battlefield 2042 Leviathan Rising event, prizes were not included as free gameplay rewards. Rather they were all store bundle cosmetics costing around 2400 Battlefield Coins. The "Cloud Broker" skin and "Mastermind" skin were included in the Deactivated store bundle, whereas "Terminal Access" was a part of the Activation store bundle.

Moving forward, the Shutdown modes in this ongoing event will be playable with smaller layouts around seven maps: Arica Harbor, Reclaimed, Spearhead, Stranded, Manifest, Exposure, and Flashpoint.
