A new Battlefield game is in the pipeline and could be released this year. Blake Jorgensen, the CFO of EA was present at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in San Francisco earlier this month, where he spoke about the launch issues that Battlefield 4 faced. However, he assured that it would have a minimal impact on the brand image of the company.

He also insisted how the game continues to be a “critical” IP for EA’s next fiscal year, which begins next month. Rumour has it that the new Battlefield game could be police themed, (for e.g. something like Payday 2, but on a huge scale), which will be developed by Dead Space studio, Visceral Games.

Although, Jorgensen’s estimation on the impact seems incorrect, as it is well known that the Battlefield’s name and image has been tarnished because of the launch issues that users continue to face till date.

While on PC; not all servers are visible, the connectivity issues continue to torment the users and prevent them from playing and enjoying the game after almost five months after its launch.

Titanfall, which is scheduled to be launched next week, the situation of server’s will only get worse.

Although, for the hard-core types, EA has announced a price cut on Battlefield 4 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions.
