If your EA FC 25 squad has many midfielders, the 3421 formation is a great way to utilize them together. This system features a six-player midfield that can be quite helpful in ball progression and attack. The defense also stays secure with a three-player backline in place. Additionally, with the introduction of FC IQ features, i.e., Player Roles, Build-Up Style, and Defensive Approach, gamers can benefit from formations and players in the best way possible.
However, given that these are new additions to the series, some might require assistance regarding their implementation. So, this article takes a look at the best custom tactics to use with the 3421 formation in EA FC 25.

EA FC 25 guide: Best custom tactics to use with 3421 formation
As mentioned, the 3421 formation has a backline featuring a trio of Center Backs (CB). The packed midfield consists of two Center Midfielders (CM), Left and Right Midfielders (LM and RM) acting as wide options, and two Center Attacking Midfielders (CAM) upfront. Leading the attack is a solitary Striker (ST).
To compensate for the absence of a natural Center Defensive Midfielder (CDM) and prevent the backline from getting overwhelmed when under attack, we will use Balanced Build-Up Style and Defensive Approach with a decent Line Height of around 50 in this setup.
EA FC 25 3421 custom tactics: Best Player Roles and Focus
Player Roles and Focus define how an individual will act on the pitch during a game. There are multiple options for the same position, with some EA FC 25 players also having a + or ++ symbol in some options, showing that they fit that particular role perfectly.
As far as the best Player Roles for the 3421 formation are concerned, have your ST play in the Poacher role with Focus set to Attack. One of the two CAMs should play as a Shadow Striker with Attack Focus, and the other as Half-Winger having Balanced Focus.
The LM and RM should be assigned Wide Playmaker and Inside Forward, respectively, both with Attack Focus. Give one of your CMs the Box-to-Box role with Balanced Focus, and the other Playmaker with Roaming Focus.
In the backline, both your outer CBs should play as Ball-Playing Defenders, one with Defend and the other with Build-Up Focus. The middle CB should fulfill the Stopper role having Balanced Focus, with your EA FC 25 Goalkeeper playing Sweeper Keeper, also with Balanced Focus.
