While the standard 41212 formation in EA FC 25 uses wide options in the form of Left and Right Midfielders (LM and RM), the 41212(2) variant replaces them with two Center Midfielders (CM). The rest of the setup remains the same with two Strikers leading the attack, one Center Attacking Midfielder (CAM) behind them, a Center Defensive Midfielder (CDM), and a four-man backline.

The EA FC 25 Build-Up Style and Defensive Approach chosen for this formation is Balanced. This is the same as the standard version, but with a slightly changed line height of 50. These choices result in a patient build-up and don't leave the backline too vulnerable to fast counterattacking players.

For the 41212(2) formation, the two Strikers shall be the Advanced Forward role and their Focus set to Attack. The CAM should play as a Shadow Striker, also with Attack Focus.

Assign one CM the Playmaker role with Roaming Focus and the other the Box-to-Box role with Balanced Focus. The CDM should be given the Holding Player Role with Focus set to Defend.
