4-3-3 is possibly the most common formation in football and many will be interested in using it with their teams in EA FC 25. It is a well-balanced setup that uses wide spaces and is defensively secure for the most part. However, it should be noted that implementing certain tactics can help you get the best out of your playing 11 in this formation. This is done by setting up a Build-Up Style and Defensive Approach along with assigning Player Roles.

With that said, let's take a look at the best custom tactics for the 4-3-3 formation in EA FC 25.

EA FC 25 guide: Best custom tactics for 4-3-3 formation

The 433 formation has a few variations. The one that we will be taking a look at in this article features three Center Midfielders (CM) and no outright Center Defensive Midfielder (CDM). The rest of the setup remains as usual with one Striker, two Wingers, Left and Right Backs (LB and RB), and two Center Backs (CB).

For this version of the 433 formation, we can use a Short Passing Build-Up Style and a High Defensive Approach with a Line Height of 70. This should be ideal for retaining possession and pressing high up on the pitch.

Now, we will take a look at the FC IQ Player Roles that you should assign to your playing 11 in this 433 formation. Note that some players might have a + or ++ sign displayed in certain Player Roles, which means that they are perfect for it. That said, a player is not a bad fit even if none of those signs are present.

The Striker should be set as an Advanced Forward with Complete Focus, and the Left as well as Right Wingers should play the Winger role with Balanced Focus. Assign one of the wider CMs the Half Winger role and the other, a Playmaker, both with Attack Focus. Meanwhile, the middle CM should be assigned the Deep-Lying Playmaker role with Defend Focus to fill in for the missing dedicated CDM.

Assign your LB the Fullback role, and the RB Falseback, before setting Focus to Defend for both. Then, set Defend Focus for the left CB and assign them the Ball-Playing Defender role, while the right CB should have the Stopper role with Balanced Focus. Lastly, assign your Goalkeeper the Sweeper Keeper Player Role with a Balanced Focus.

It isn't necessary to stick to these tactics in this version of the 4-3-3 formation, but they can be quite helpful for those needing assistance, be it in Kick Off, Career Mode, or EA FC 25 Ultimate Team.
