The Genshin Impact 5.3 update will see the release of the new 5-star Claymore, A Thousand Blazing Suns. It boasts the following stats and effects:
- Base ATK: 741
- Second stat: 11% Crit Rate
- Passive: Gain the "Scorching Brilliance" effect when using an Elemental Skill or Burst: CRIT DMG increased by 20% and ATK increased by 28% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every 10s. While a "Scorching Brilliance" instance is active, its duration is increased by 2s after Normal or Charged attacks deal Elemental DMG. This effect can trigger once every second, and the max duration increase is 6s. Additionally, when the equipping character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, "Scorching Brilliance" effects are increased by 75%, and its duration will not count down when the equipping character is off-field.
Based on the information, A Thousand Blazing Suns provides its user with the ATK, Crit DMG, and Crit Rate stats, and is best suited for damage dealers. Below is a list of the recommended characters that can make good use of this weapon:
1) Mavuika
Since it is the signature weapon of Mavuika, A Thousand Blazing Suns will do well in the hands of the Pyro Archon. She can deal a lot of damage to opponents and support both on-field and off-field playstyles. The Claymore's passive dovetails Mavuika's kit perfectly, making her a top choice for it in Genshin Impact.
2) Kinich
Kinich is also a great choice to use the Claymore. The 5-star Dendro DPS will appreciate the Crit DMG and Crit Rate offered by A Thousand Blazing Suns. Moreover, since he relies on his Nightsoul Blessings state to deal most of his damage, he is the only unit aside from Mavuika to efficiently use the weapon's passive ability.
3) Navia
The 5-star Geo main DPS from Fontaine, Navia, is an amazing option for Mavuika's weapon. She benefits heavily from the ATK and Crit DMG provided by the weapon. Her playstyle mainly revolves around using her to generate Crystallize shields via her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst's Geo application. She can then absorb them and deal heavy damage.
However, since she isn't from Natlan, she will miss out on the effect triggered under the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
4) Diluc
Diluc is Genshin Impact's oldest main DPS and can be a good option to use the upcoming weapon. This 5-star Pyro character from Mondstadt needs ATK, Crit DMG, and Crit Rate stats offered by the weapon. His Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can be used often which, in turn, can help him keep the Scorching Brilliance effect active.
5) Gaming
Gaming is a 4-star Pyro DPS from Liyue who also finds the stats offered by A Thousand Blazing Suns desirable. His gameplay revolves around using his Elemental Skill that lets him perform Plunge Attacks to defeat enemies. Players who don't have any of the above-mentioned 5-star characters can consider equipping the Claymore to Gaming.
The character will be available to all Travelers for free during the Lantern Rite Festival 2025 in version 5.3.
