What are the best characters to pair with Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail?

1) Acheron

In no particular order, Acheron belongs to the list of characters that pair well with Aventurine. She is a unique DPS that needs debuff to regenerate her Ultimate, which has one of the highest damage ceilings in the game.

Hence, it is rather Acheron who requires Aventurine owing to her special requirement. The latter launches his Ultimate on a target, making them vulnerable to CRIT DMG. This registers as a debuff, which in turn generates Ultimate for the DPS character.

2) Dr. Ratio

Easily one of the best characters to pair with Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail, Dr. Ratio shines due to his consistent follow-up attacks (FuA). They are easy to trigger and deal quite a bit of single-target damage, especially when the enemy is susceptible to the Imaginary element.

The follow-ups further trigger Aventurine’s passive count, where he launches a similar auto-attack to generate more shields for the whole team. It also serves as a decent source of damage and can chip away at the opponent's toughness over time.

3) Himeko

For more AoE damage, you can always use Himeko in Aventurine’s team in Honkai Star Rail. She is another DPS that relies on follow-up attacks to deal most of her damage. Against multiple enemies, she can constantly activate this mechanic to further trigger Aventurine’s passive.

Himeko is a good substitute for Dr. Ratio while facing multiple enemies in endgame content like Pure Fiction. Aventurine’s shields will keep her protected while she dispatches enemy waves. Not to forget his debuff, which can indirectly increase her damage output.

4) Topaz

Like Himeko, Topaz from the Fire roster can also be a good teammate for Aventurine. Sure, her follow-up attack has different properties, but it can still trigger Aventurine’s passive.

That said, Topaz is a single-target sub-DPS that can also buff the FuA mechanics of other characters. Therefore, you can use her with Himeko or Dr. Ratio as well, and let Aventurine protect the entire team with his stackable barriers.

5) Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae

Consider pairing Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae with Aventurine to create the ultimate hypercarry team in Honkai Star Rail. He is an excellent 5-star unit that commands powerful AoE damage. Hence, he can benefit from the CRIT DMG debuff provided by the other member.

Overall, Imbibitor Lunae is quite similar to Acheron in the sense that he can properly utilize Aventurine’s kit. The shield is nice to have for a DPS that is more likely to get targeted by the enemy.
