Best characters to get in Genshin Impact 4.8
1) Yelan
Yelan is one of the best Hydro units in the game, and is extremely flexible in terms of team compositions. Depending on how you build her, she can both serve as a DPS or a sub-DPS. Her Hydro application is top notch, with both her skill and her burst constantly applying Hydro to enemies. She fits in perfectly in most kinds of teams including vaporize, hyperbloom, permafreeze, and electro-charged.
For players lacking a good Hydro sub-DPS/off-field support, Yelan should be the top pick in the lineup for Genshin Impact 4.8.
2) Nilou
Nilou is a must-have character for anyone running any kind of bloom team. While Nilou's main utility is being a buffer/enabler for all kinds of bloom reactions, her kit also gives her enough damage for her to used in an on-field role. She is one of the best off-field hydro applicators in game right now, and is consistently used in Spiral Abyss bloom teams.
Anyone who already has Nahida in their roster and is missing Nilou should definitely pull for her, as her addition to a bloom team is an actual game-changer.
3) Navia
Navia is undoubtedly one of the best 5-star Geo characters in game. She is an amazing main DPS, and despite Geo being somewhat inert when it comes to reactions, she still manages to make the best use of it. Her damage mutipliers are pretty high, so you can get her to hit huge numbers without a lot of investment.
Since Geo is not exactly a must-have in reaction team comps, Navia is not a very essential character. That said, her gameplay is very fun and satisfying, and she is the best Geo DPS currently in Genshin Impact. Players who like playing with Geo units can definitely go ahead and pull for her.
4) Emilie
Emilie is a brand new character who will have her first ever banner in Genshin Impact 4.8. She is a Dendro character who fits in best into an off-field sub-DPS/support role. Emilie's kit is rather niche, and is focused mainly on burning reactions and burning-based team compositions. This makes it mandatory to put her in teams with good Pyro DPS characters such as Arlecchino or Xiangling. Emilie also does not synergize well with Electro characters, so players who like Electro teams will not be able to make the best use of Emilie.
Emilie is not exactly a must-have character, but players who like her design and her gameplay can get her.
