Lava Hound in Clash Royale is a legendary troop that costs seven elixirs to spawn. While it has low movement speed and damage per second, it compensates with its massive hitpoint stat. Additionally, upon its death, it explodes into six small Lava Pups, which have low HP and movement speed.

Interstingly, the Pups have a higher attack stat than the Hound itself, but they are fragile and can be easily countered with arrows. While the Lava Hound only targets buildings, the Lava Pups will attack anything in range. Additionally, the Lava Hound is a ranged attacker, whereas the Lava Pups are melee attackers. In Clash Royale, the Lava Hound can be unlocked starting from Arena 13.

This article will highlight three decks that run Lava Hound in Clash Royale.

3 Best decks that Run Lava Hound in Clash Royale

To build decks in Clash Royale, it is necessary to include a win condition. A win condition is a card that can be relied on for dealing tower damage. Secondly, it is important to include support units that can support the win condition. Moreover, Spells are also important, as they protect and complement both the win condition and support cards.

Additionally, Lava Hound in Clash Royale can be used for defense as well for all the decks mentioned.

1) Lava Hound, Skeleton Dragons, and Balloon Beatdown I

  • Lava Hound (7 elixir)
  • Evolved Valkyrie (4 elixir)
  • Evolved Zap (2 elixir)
  • Guards (3 elixir)
  • Viod (3 elixir)
  • Skeleton Dragons (4 elixir)
  • Balloon (5 elixir)
  • Inferno Dragon (4 elixir)

This deck relies on the Lava Hound to create an attack push. Drop the hound at the back of the arena and place Skeleton Dragons or the Balloon behind it. Additionally, Balloon and Lava Hound get distracted by defense buildings, which can be countered with the Void.

Guards and Inferno Dragons can be used to get rid of tanks like PEKKA, Giant, and Royal Giant. One thing to note is that this deck lacks any defensive buildings. Therefore, to stop troops like Hog Rider, using the Guards is recommended. Moreover, Zap can be used to counter swarms and delay the attack of the crown tower to get an extra Balloon hit.

  • Lava Hound (7 elixir)

  • Inferno Dragon (4 Elixir)
  • Evolved Barbarians (5 elixir)
  • Snow Ball (2 elixir)
  • Void (3 elixir)
  • Arrows (3 elixir)
  • Evolved Bomber (3 elixir)

This deck has Lava Hound as the win condition and Skeleton Dragons are the main support troops. Skeleton Dragons do area damage and can counter swarms efficiently. However, they are fragile and will require the help of Snow Ball and Arrows if they get targeted.

The deck also has Barbarian and Bomber who have a good synergy. Additionally, Barbarians can physically delay and completely counter Hog Rider. Tanks can be countered with Inferno Dragon or Barbarians.

  • Lavahound (7 elixir)
  • Balloon (5 elixir)
  • Evolved Barbarians (5 elixir)
  • Skeleton Dragons (4 elixir)
  • Evolved Zap (2 elixir)
  • Fire Ball (4 elixir)
  • Mega Minion (3 elixir)
  • Tombstone (4 elixir)

This is another deck with Lava Hound as the win condition. Ideally, either Skeleton Dragons or Balloons should be placed behind the Lava Hound, while creating an attack push. Skeleton Dragons are for countering swarms like minions, Minion Horde, Goblins, etc.

Use the Fire Ball for any troops that target The Balloon, as it will do most crown tower damage. Tombstone is for defense and distracting enemy troops. Additionally, Mega Minion can attack foes while they attack the Tombstone and spawned skeletons.
