Apex Legends Season 17 Ranked mode: Crash Site, Caustic Treatment, and more drop locations for Kings Canyon
More often than not, map knowledge helps players understand the fundamentals of not just the terrain, but also the best loot drops associated with each map. In this article, we will go through some of the best high-tier loot and weapon spawn drop locations for players to contest in and earn their wins in the current Ranked season of Apex Legends.
1) Crash Site
The northernmost POI on the map, Crash Site yields a great amount of high-tier loot. The area has a spawn for three armor at the top, paired with a weapons-hold that is accessible by using a grenade. Naturally, this location attracts all the veteran squads fighting for the best loot in the game, competing at the highest level.
In order to dominate the POI, players must have great mechanical skills and should communicate their actions with their teammates in order to isolate their fights and win their overall engagements.
2) Caustic Treatment
Chaos Theory event brought over Caustic Treatment to Kings Canyon, replacing the previous Water Treatment POI, way back in 2021. The area grants players access to four certified gold rarity items, ranging from weapons and armor to helmets and more.
Located in the southernmost corner of the map, much like Crash Site, this area attracts a lot of squads. Naturally, there are a lot of battles over the loot distributed in the area. This location also benefits from a replicator and an explosive hold, thus increasing the chances of getting better loot.
3) Swamps
Often overlooked, the Swamps is a high-tier loot area in Apex Legends. Known only to the veterans of the game, it has great loot distribution and gives players access to a multitude of weapon options from the explosive hold.
This POI is overshadowed by Hydro-Dam and Capacitor, however, landing in Swamps can yield some of the best loot in the game. With experience, gamers will understand the value of landing in Swamps not just for the loot, but for the ease of third-partying any fights happening in Labs, Capacitor, or Hydro-Dam.
4) Artillery
Located adjacent to Crash Site, Artillery features great loot distribution. More often than not, the area features a replicator, allowing players to craft the necessary tools and equipment they need. Besides being a great spot to land in, it allows them to quickly gear up and get ready to wipe teams from Crash Site as they brawl there.
A solid edge composition or an aggressive trio can definitely reap the benefits of third-partying at Crash Site and earn easy LP to climb the rank ladder in Apex Legends. Furthermore, Artillery provides gamers access to make rotations throughout the northern half of the map when needed, without a lot of engagements.
5) Repulsor
Located just beside Crypto's Map Room, Repulsor is a widespread area that provides access to a lot of high-tier loot in Apex Legends. The main priority for players landing here should be to target anyone landing in Map Room. The high-ground distribution in Repulsor makes gamers in the Map Room easy targets for the Repulsor team to wipe out.
The area also provides a charge tower and a multitude of escape routes in case things don't turn out well in gamers' favor.
The key ideas to keep in mind during landing in a certain location are firstly, access to good loot, and secondly, the potential to third-party close-range hot-zones where multiple fights are happening.
