EA FC 25: Best formation to use for Manchester City Women
As mentioned earlier, the standard 4-3-3 Attack formation should be ideal for the mighty Manchester City Women. In such an attacking formation, Khadija Shaw will lead the attack and can also drop back to help the midfielders control the opponent’s spaces. Meanwhile, wingers Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly can breeze past the defenders to cut inside the opponent’s final third to create additional pressure.
While Shaw will take on a poacher role, Viviane Miedema can fill the space in the striker position and take on those hefty 1v1 with the last man of the opponent’s defense. Jill Roord and Hasegawa can play as box-to-box midfielders to help your team with defense and attack simultaneously. Hasegawa can push extra deep into the final third and create additional threats for your opponent.
Coming to the back line, Lella Ouahabi and Risa Shimizu will act as usual fullbacks. However, Shimizu will take on the extra responsibility of being a falseback, who will move into the midfield during an attack similar to an inverted fullback. Both center-backs, Alex Greenwood and Alanna Kennedy will stay on their defense to negate any upcoming threats from the opponent. Lastly, as the formation forces players to play Highline, Khiara Keating will play the sweeper-keeper role.

Since FC IQ allows you to experiment with players’ roles and focus individually, you’re free to implement some of your thoughts into this formation. However, it’s recommended you use the following custom tactics to yield optimal results in the virtual field of EA FC 25.
Firstly, Manchester City Women’s Build-Up style should be set to Counter and the Defensive Approach will be Aggressive. It'll allow your team to utilize every possible counter-attacking opportunity. As discussed earlier, Khadija Shaw will take on a Poacher role with an Attack focus. The focus of both wingers, Hemp and Kelly, should be set to Balanced with an Inside Forward+ role.
Miedema will fulfill the role of a Shadow Striker+ with an Attack balance. Center midfielder Roord should be Balanced focused with a Box-to-Box role. Meanwhile, Hasegawa’s focus should be the same but she’ll take on the Box-to-Box+ role in the virtual field.
Coming to the back four, Ouahabi will be a Defend-focused Fullback. Meanwhile, Shimizu will be a Falseback+ roled RB with her focus set to Defend. Greenwood’s focus should be Defend with a Defender role and Kennedy will have a Defender+ role with Balanced Focus. Lastly, Keating will fulfill a Balanced focus Sweeper Keeper+ role.
