Roma has a good pool of talent, which makes selecting the best starting 11 rather simple. The players need to be placed in the correct positions and then assigned FC IQ Player Roles that will bring the best out of each of their abilities.

The 4-2-3-1 Wide formation looks suitable for Roma as it utilizes its best players in their ideal positions. Artem Dovbyk leads the attack as the central Striker with Paulo Dybala right behind him as the Center Attacking Midfielder (CAM).

The midfield consists of Stephan El Shaarawy as the wide Left Midfielder, Bryan Cristante and Leandro Paredes as Center Defensive Midfielders (CDM), and Matias Soule as the wide Right Midfielder. The backline from left to right has Angelino, Evan Ndicka, Gianluca Mancini, and Saud Abdulhamid with Mathew Ryan as the Goalkeeper.

Select the Balanced option in the Build-Up Style tab and use a High Defensive Approach. In combination with the following FC IQ Player Roles, the team will always look to attack but have a strong focus on defense.

The central Striker Dovbyk takes on the Poacher+ role with Focus set to Attack. Paulo Dybala acts as the Playmaker behind him with Balanced Focus as CAM. The two wide midfielders on left and right both have Focus set to Attack and have been assigned Inside Forward+ and Inside Forward Player Roles, respectively.

Cristante plays a Deep-Lying Playmaker with Focus on Roaming whereas Paredes is a Holding+ CDM with Focus set to Defend.

At the back, Angelino will have Focus on Attack and play the Attacking Wingback+ role. Evan Ndicka has Balanced Focus and Stopper+, Mancini has Defend Focus and Ball-Playing Defender+, and Abdulhamid has the Attacking Wingback+ Player Role with Balanced Focus. Lastly, Mathew Ryan plays Goalkeeper+ and has his Focus set to Defend.
