Goblin Cage decks in Clash Royale are seen throughout the trophy ladder. Goblin Cage is a Rare building card, that can be unlocked from Arena 1 onwards. It costs 4 elixirs and spawns a cage, categorized as a building. Additionally, a Goblin Brawler is deployed when the cage runs out of health. The Goblin Brawler has moderate health and attack. Moreover, it targets a single ground unit at a time. Therefore, it is not very effective against troops like Royal Hogs and Royal Recruits.

The Goblin Cage is a versatile card that can defend and turn the defense into an attack push. It is also an effective counter against meta units including Hog Rider and Balloon.

This article lists five Goblin Cage decks, with conceptual ideas, in Clash Royale, that can help players climb the ranks.

The article is subjective and reflects the writer's opinion. The entries are in no particular order.

5 Goblin Cage decks in Clash Royale you can try

1) Goblin Cage Cycle

If possible, use Evolved Valkyrie over Bats or Skeletons (Image via Supercell)

  • Goblin Cage (4 elixir)
  • Musketeer (4 elixir)
  • Valkyrie (4 elixir)
  • Bats (2 elixir)
  • Skeletons (1 elixir)
  • Heal Spirit (1 elixir)
  • Fire Ball (4 elixir)
  • The Log (2 elixir)

This low elixir-cost deck has a good balance of attack and defense. The main idea is to always have the attackers, Musketeer, Valkyrie, and Goblin Cage in your hand. To achieve this, cycle the low-cost spells, Bats, Log, and Heal Spirit, whenever possible. The aim is to maintain pressure by always attacking the enemy side. Valkyrie also acts as the tank of this deck. Use her to shield Goblin Brawler or Musketeer because these units can do a lot of damage.

The deck is low in elixir and leaves room for experimenting. For instance, if you think some more firepower is needed in the deck, feel free to swap Skeletons for PEKKA or Mega Knight.

2) Mega Knight MW Goblin Cage Control

  • Fire Ball (4 elixir)
  • Goblin Cage (4 elixir)
  • Royal Hogs (5 elixir)
  • Zappies (4 elixir)
  • Flying Machine (4 elxir)
  • Barbarian Barrell (2 elixir)

This is a balanced deck, with more emphasis on defense. In short, you will try to defend and get positive elixir trades. Use units like Mega Knight and Goblin Cage for defense and launch a counterattack. Additionally, Royal Hogs have good synergy with Fire Ball. Attack anything that the opponent uses to counter the hogs with Fire Ball. Barbarin Barell is good for getting rid of swarms.

  • Goblin Cage (4 elixir)
  • Skeletons (1 elixir)
  • Arrows (3 elixir)
  • Mega Minion (3 elixr)

This beatdown deck relies on Lava Hound to do most of the damage on Crown Tower. It is a slow-attacking tank that damages buildings and drops Lava Pups when eliminated. Lava Pups are good attackers and can be shielded with the Miner. You can also use The Miner to protect Goblin Brawler, which can deal high damage. Use Skeletons for cycling and defending.

4) Baloon Little Prince Beatdown

  • Little Prince/ Executioner (3/5 elixir)

  • Zap (2 elixir)

This deck aims to use Baloon to attack the Crown Tower. Use Little Prince, Zap, and Arrows to clear the way for the Baloon. If you don't have a Little Prince, feel free to use an Executioner as it can do area damage and target air troops. Use The Miner to absorb damage for Baloon or Goblin Brawler when needed. Additionally, use Mega Minion and Executioner to attack air units consistently.

5) Electro Giant Golden Knight Beatdown

  • Bomber (3 elixir)
  • Lightning (6 elixir)
  • Tornado (3 elixir)
  • Inferno Dragon (4 elixir)

Electro Giant is used for creating an attack push in this deck. Inferno Dragon is to help get rid of tanks. Mother Witch and Electro Giant have good synergy because they can quickly turn any swarms into allies. Use Golden Knight to punish opponents if they over-commit their elixir. If you don't have Golden Knight, just use Skeleton dragons for supporting Electro Giant. Moreover, use Lightning to weaken or remove any buildings that may distract the Electro Giant. Use Goblin Cage to defend against upcoming building attackers.
