How to install mods for Marvel Rivals
Download F Model
First off, you need a program called F Model. This will get your game folder ready to install mods. You can find it on the official site by hitting that blue download button.
Note: This is a temporary guide. Future mod managers will make things smoother, but for now, this is the process that gets the job done.
Locate your game directory
This is when you will bind F Model with Marvel Rivals. The method varies based on your platform:
- For Steam: Right-click on Marvel Rivals, go to Manage, and then select Browse Local Files. This will show you the directory where the game is installed.
- For Epic Games: Go into your library, click the three dots next to Marvel Rivals, select Manage, and choose the Folder Icon. Copy the directory address that shows up.
Now that the address is copied, open F Model and click on the three dots below the Directory option. Paste the address by using Ctrl + V and select Folder.
Update F Model
Once you have set the directory, F Model should automatically detect Marvel Rivals. If you see some random letters after the game name, don't worry — this is normal. Now, change the last few characters from ue4latest to Marvel Rivals. After that, click Add Undetected Game. Paste the address again, hit Select Folder, and click OK.
At this point, you should receive an update prompt; click on the Download Latest Release to download the updates and allow installation of the updates; once complete, you're done.
Unlock and Export Pack Files
Now that the F Model is updated and set up, you’ll need to unlock the pack files for modification. Head to Directory > AES in F Model, and enter the key code:
- 0x0C263D8C22DCB085894899C3A3796383E9BF9DE0CBFB08C9BF2DEF2E84F29D74.
Click OK to unlock the files.
The only file you need to focus on here is packChunkCharacter-Windows, so double-click on it. You should see a Marvel folder. Right-click it and select Export Folders Packages. F Model will take a few moments to process.
Check your output directory to know where the files are being saved. Copy this address and use it later.
Prepare for Mod installation
Next, return to your game’s directory (Steam or Epic Games), and navigate to Marvel Content. You’ll need to paste the Marvel folder from the export into this location.
Once copying is done, head to the Marvel > Content > Paks and Rename the packChunkCharacter-Windows.pak file by adding “.bak” to the name to keep the original file intact.
Now go back to the Marvel folder, and check that you have a Character and a VFX folder.
Note: If you see the Characters and VFX folder, you've done everything right.
Create a folder for your mods
To make things more organized, create a folder where all your mods will go. Name it anything you feel like. Inside this folder, create another subfolder called Output. This is where the exported files will go.
Download and install mods
Time to bring in the mods! Head to Nexus Mods and download your favorite mods. For this example, we’re going with the Luffy as Mister Fantastic mod. Once downloaded, open the mod’s files and place the pak file into your Output folder.
Launch F Model again, and set the output directory to the folder you just created. Make sure the path points to your Output folder.
Export the mod files
In F Model, go to Settings, and ensure that your output directory is set correctly. Double-click on the mod, and you should see a Marvel folder appear. Right-click it, select Export Folders Packages, and wait for it to process.
Once that is done, go back to your game's Marvel Content folder and paste the mod's folder inside. You will be prompted to replace existing files — go ahead and click Replace.
Enjoy your new Mod
Launch Marvel Rivals and check out your newly installed mod! For the Luffy mod, since there is no lobby version, head to Practice Mode to test it out. If you see Luffy in action, you have done everything correctly.
