Playing Osa requires a great deal of map knowledge, game sense, and team coordination. The way Talon-8 shields work, their setup, and their usefulness depend on the team using them.

During the drone phase, make sure you are saving it to gather information on the defender setups and operator selection. This will allow your team to utilize the attacker repick ability to get set up as necessary.

During the action phase, make sure to communicate with your team and help them with your secondary gadgets wherever necessary. If the attackers require you to rappel on a window with the shield, make sure you don't get killed off during deployment animation. This is because the Talon-8 deployment animation on any surface, especially during rappel, makes Osa vulnerable.

On maps like Border, Coastline, Nighthaven labs, Kafe Dostoyevsky, and so on, Osa can be very useful due to the large size of the map and Osa's ability to cover a vast area from behind strategically placed shields. Make sure you have drones or other forms of intel to counter vertical C4 when entering rooms above the ground floor.

An important tip to know while playing Osa is that if you aim your cursor toward the Talon-8 shield and try to plant the defuser, Osa will instead pick up the shield. To counter this, either look vertically upwards and start planting or turn 180 degrees and then plant.
