Unlike most soulslike titles, Flintlock The Siege of Dawn comes with a dedicated Skill Tree. There are three different Skill Trees that players can choose to invest in: Magic, Steel, and Powder. Depending on your style of play, you must invest most of your points in one or all of these trees. However, there are a few skills that everyone should have regardless of their playstyle.
With so many options to choose from, making the right choice can be tricky. We've got you covered, though, as this article will show you the best skills to unlock first in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn.

Throughout your time with Flintlock The Siege of Dawn, you will often come across enemies in groups of two. While taking on two foes at once can be overwhelming, especially if you're new to the genre, the Taunt skill under the Magic Skill Tree makes these encounters almost trivial.
If you have the Taunt skill equipped, your magical partner Enki will taunt one of the enemies you're facing and keep them away from the action. This will allow you to isolate enemies and take them on one by one. Taunt is a must-have during the early hours of the game since taking on two enemies at once can often lead to a quick death.
Charged Attack
As the name suggests, the Charged Attack skill allows you to charge up your swings by holding down the attack button to deliver devastating amounts of damage. The longer you charge, the more powerful your strike will be. Moreover, a lot of weapons in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn come with Charge Attack skills that cannot be accessed until you get Charged Attacks.
So, grabbing this early into the game will go a long way toward adding some devastating moves to your arsenal.

Charged Shot
While the Charged Attack skill allows you to charge up your melee attacks, the Charged Shot has the same effect on your primary firearm. If you have this skill, you can hold down the fire button to charge up your shots and deal devastating damage to your enemies.
This skill is especially useful when taking on enemies in groups. At any point during the fight, you can charge up a bullet and one-shot anyone that you believe is tough to deal with. This works especially well against snipers, who will try to take you down from a distance.
Destructive Descent
This skill gives you access to an AOE attack that can be used whenever you're airborne. While you're in the air, hold down the attack button to come crashing into the ground. Upon impact, you will knock back all enemies in the area while also dealing a good amount of damage.
Using this move to start a fight is an amazing way to gain the upper hand. Your damage is also affected by the height you jump from before using this attack. Getting this early in the game will allow you to easily manage groups of enemies, which can otherwise be annoying.
