As mentioned, this iteration of the Spiral Abyss in its later stage contains a unique lineup of enemies that either have a higher resistance to certain elements or a shield that must be broken before you can deal damage to them. However, the enemies in the earlier stages are much more manageable. The blessing of the Abyssal Moon in this version favors characters with their skills scaled off of their DEF. So, Geo characters like Arataki Itto, Chiori, and Xilonen are highly favored.

Here are some recommended team compositions for each floor of the Genshin Impact 5.1 Spiral Abyss:

Floor 9

Floor 9 of the Genshin Impact 5.1 Spiral Abyss features mobs of small Saurian enemies along with their elite variations in the first half. The second half of this floor consists of a single enemy in each chamber, which includes a Ruin Guard, Ruin Grader, and Ruin Drake: Earthground.

Floor 9 gives a massive Pyro DMG Bonus to your characters, so a team with a Pyro main DPS to utilize this buff would be beneficial if you're an early-game player and face difficulties in clearing out enemies. Crowd-controlling characters like Venti and Kazuha in the first half are also recommended.

Floor 10 of the Genshin Impact 5.1 Spiral Abyss consists of waves of all the tribal enemies from one tribe of Natlan in every chamber of the first half, including the Tribal Warriors and Saurian enemies. Like Floor 9, this one's second half comprises a single enemy in every chamber, including an Eremite Stone Enchanter, an Eremite Galehunter, and a Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-Seeker.

Floor 10 grants an additional 50% DMG increase to characters when in the Nightsoul Blessing state. In the first half, crowd-controlling characters would be highly recommended to allow for an easier time dealing with them.

The first half consists of a slightly higher number of enemies, so some crowd control or AoE damage-dealing teams would be recommended. This floor also gives an insane 75% Geo DMG Bonus, so taking a Geo team in at least one of the halves would be beneficial.

Floor 12 of the Genshin Impact 5.1 Spiral Abyss consists of elite enemies and overworld bosses with a high HP. Most enemies on this floor have either a higher resistance to some elements in both halves or Geo shields that must be broken for them to take damage, especially in the second half.

Keeping that in mind, either bring a Claymore-using character, a Geo team, or an Overload team in the second half to take care of the enemy's Geo shields. Furthermore, the Pyro and Electro-Consecrated Beasts will be the toughest enemies in the first half, so bring a team composition that can handle them easily.
