Released with the game during its initial release, Thermite is one of the primary Pathfinder operators and the game's earliest hard breacher. He is capable of opening reinforced walls bigger than the average hitbox of operators, making sure that attackers have no trouble getting in and out of the breach.

Also known as Jordan Trace, Thermite hails from Plano, Texas. He is a member of the Redhammer Squad in Rainbow Six Siege. The Exothermic charges that he utilizes to breach open reinforced walls use a specialized reaction that is able to burn a hole through the toughest of walls.

The secondary gadgets available in a Thermite loadout in Rainbow Six Siege allow this operator to further assist his team by supporting them in various ways. This attacker has two Flash grenades or two Smoke grenades in his arsenal. The choice between the two comes down to the attacker lineup's plans on how they want to hit the objective site.

Be it clearing corners with Flash grenades or cutting off defender lines-of-sight with Smokes, Thermite has the option to do it all.


How to play Thermite in Rainbow Six Siege

Playing Thermite requires utmost coordination and in-depth map knowledge. These will ensure that the two Exothermite charges are put to good use since, more often than not, this primary gadget is prone to destruction to a little tactic used by defenders called Bandit or Kaid tricking. With Tubarao in the roster, Thermite has more obstacles in his way to effectively breach open a wall.

To ensure maximum breach possibility, make sure you effectively use your drones to figure out the defender lineup and ensure you have all the information regarding the anti-breach gadgets. Upon the onset of the action phase, ensure that you are aware and safe from all the possible runout and jump out points available in any particular map and its corresponding attacker spawn.

To ensure your survivability, spawning closest to the wall you have to breach for a round is highly recommended. Communicate with your team on how they want to assist you with clearing out the anti-breach gadgets. These could happen in various ways, like EMP grenades, Maverick torches, explosives of various kinds (Cluster charges, Frag grenades), Argus camera laser, and so on.

After the anti-breach is taken care of, make sure that you are safe from any form of bandit-tricking or kaid-tricking. If not, coordinate with your teammates to ensure you can take out or counter the said defenders, Bandit and Kaid. Following this, Breach open the required walls, and proceed with your team to utilize your secondary utility and successfully plant the Defuser and win the round.
