Great ways to get ammo in Stalker 2
Battling hostiles and enemies can cause ammunition reserves to run low, and can make it difficult to explore the map. Every time a hostile is downed, make sure to check their inventory for loot and any guns they can drop. They may just have the exact ammo type your gun needs. Alternatively, their gun may have a full magazine of ammo that can be unloaded and stored by you in your inventory.
Also, explore the stashes, safes, and green breakable ammo boxes around the map. You may also encounter some unattended backpacks that can be ransacked for loot, which may contain some precious ammo. Though loot stashes will not contain ammo all the time, they can contain other items and consumables that can also be useful in combat, So, this is, generally speaking, a good practice to do so.
The easiest way to acquire ammo is to approach a trader such as Hamster who is found in Zalissya, and interact with them to buy some ammo. Though it requires upfront payment, they often have ample reserves of ammo that can prove useful if you require a certain type of ammo or are unable to find it in the open world.
In any case, make sure to also keep some ammunition reserves in storage with the Personal stashes found across the map. This can be very useful, as you may encounter ammo aplenty in one region but not in other regions. In such a situation, always make sure to transfer reserve ammo to your Personal stash which is accessible from any Personal stash around the map.
