The Wizard Tower in Clash of Clans is unlocked at Town Hall level 5. It is a defensive building that can target, both air and ground troops, albeit only one at a time. Staying true to its name, the structure features a Wizard on top of a tower that launches fireballs at foes. The Fireballs do area damage upon contact, making the tower a good option to guard against small groups of enemies.

Tips
Here are some tips for using the Wizard Tower in Clash of Clans:
- The Wizard tower does area damage. Therefore, it can be placed around storage to eliminate Goblins that can otherwise loot them quickly.
- The Wizard Tower is the only defensive building until Town Hall 6 that can do area damage against Air and Ground troops. Therefore, if guarded properly, it is a reliable defense against Giant and Balloon attacks at early levels.
- Mortars and Wizard Towers are complementary defenses. If placed together, a Mortar can weaken troops until they get closer, and then the Wizard Tower can attack enemies inside the Mortar's non-fire range.
- The Grand Warden, introduced in Town Hall 11 can attack the Wizard Tower without taking any damage due to his high attacking range. To counter such a strategy, place the Tower near the edge of the map.
- Lower Town Halls, especially until 7, rely on Giants and Balloons to do most of the damage. Therefore, if Wizard Towers are placed in the center, it will take enemy troops longer to reach them. Given enough time, the towers can easily eliminate Giant and Balloon hoards.
- The towers should not be placed on the outer edges of the village as only a few evenly distanced ranged attackers, like Archers and Wizards, can destroy them.
