Small Chainsaw is perhaps the best weapon in the early game that can carry you through the rest of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. You can obtain this weapon by defeating Adam the Clown boss in Wonderland Plaza.

To fight this boss, wait for Otis’ call at 9 pm on Day 1 about an out-of-control ride in Wonderland. Then, make your way to the Wonderland Plaza and use the rollercoaster terminal to summon the boss. Defeat the boss and he will drop two Small Chainsaws.

2) Katana

Katana is a relatively fast long-range weapon that can easily tear through multiple zombies at once. You can find your first Katana inside the Colombian Roastmasters, a shop on the second floor of the mall. To get it, enter the store and walk to the back. There, you'll find an awning hanging from the ceiling. Jump onto it to reach the Katana.

This spot is a permanent Katana location, so you can always return here to pick up a new one if your current one breaks. The Katana does extra damage to Psychopaths and is a great weapon for creating space between you and a horde of zombies.

3) Mannequin Torso

The Mannequin Torso is another great early-game weapon you can find soon after completing the tutorial section. Once past the tutorial, you find yourself in a security room, where you will be tasked with saving the remaining survivors in Dead Rising.

Exit this room through the vent and head down using the elevator. Once the elevator opens, you will find several Mannequins lying on the ground. Grab the Mannequin and kill some zombies to break it. You can then equip the Mannequin Torso as a weapon.

4) Submachine Gun

Submachine Gun is a strong early-game weapon in Dead Rising that you can acquire after a bit of platforming. It is located on the second floor of Paradise Plaza and you can get to it by jumping over the blue awning near the staircase to the second floor. From the awning, jump on the railings near the steps and then jump again on the next awning to pick up the Submachine Gun.

Similar to the Katana, this is a permanent spawn point where you can pick up a new Submachine Gun each time your old one breaks or when you reload a new save of Dead Rising.
