To equip the best possible Ying loadout in Rainbow Six Siege, be well aware of where defenders are playing, what operators they have, how they can deny a plant, and how they can get into the objective. For fast plants, Ying is the backbone of any team, so her survivability up until the execution phase is a point of concern.

Overall, Ying is often a spearhead in rushes or fast-plant strategies. Her success rate relies heavily upon your in-game knowledge and game sense.

Of the two major options available at Ying's disposal, the Light machine gun is the better option in a majority of the scenarios when compared to the primary shotgun. This is partly due to the shotgun's ineffectiveness and the benefits one receives upon using an 80+1 magazine LMG.

Even though the T-95 LSW has an unimpressive fire rate and a B-tier rating on our Attacker weapon tierlist, it more than makes up for it with its high damage per bullet and low reload time for a weapon of its category. What makes this weapon effective during a round is its low recoil, which, combined with the above factors, gives it an edge in gunfights.

The SIX12 primary shotgun is highly situational and can only prove effective when players go in point-blank range and use it on blinded defenders. Its low fire rate, magazine capacity, and bullpup double action make it one of the most unreliable weapons in its category. However, those still willing to take this shotgun for a spin will find it most effective where defenders will least expect you to approach from.

You can choose from a couple of teamwide useful utilities. Both are complimentary to the role Ying plays as an attacker spearhead. She comes with either a Hard breach charge or a Smoke grenade. While the latter is the go-to option for those who intend to plant the defuser as quickly as possible, the Hard breach charge is a great tool that allows attackers to open up reinforced walls or hatches.

To effectively utilize their gadgets, keep in mind that there are three states of fuse time built into the gadget. These fuse times will be denoted by the three lights on a Candela. No lights mean the longest fuse time, which will make the gadget activate its flash cluster after a long delay while three lights mean the candela will detonate as soon as it hits the floor.

Additionally, Ying Candelas can be deployed in soft walls or hatches like a Fuze cluster bomb and activated in the same way. Although Ying is an easy character to pick up, mastering her takes a bit of learning since awareness of defender locations and defensive setup during a round is crucial to pulling off a fast and fluid attack.

During the drone phase, your target should be to scout where defenders will be playing and how many roamers will be absent from the objective. Communicate with your team on how you want to approach the bombsite and where you will use your Candelas.

This might help your teammates avoid getting team-flashed and help you secure a round. Use Smokes to cover the planter or Hard breach charges to open up angles for your teammates. Being an effective team player is key to being a good Ying player.
