Black Myth Wukong might not be a souls-like through and through, but it certainly takes a page out of their handbook when it comes to progression and gameplay. And much like some of the best souls-likes out there, Black Myth offers New Game+ right from day one, meaning you won't have to wait for a post-launch update to jump back into the game's story with your existing save.
New Game+ is more or less a norm for most modern action RPGs, and even action games in general. However, most games that don't associate themselves with the "souls-like" moniker, often don't feature New Game+ right from the day of their release.
However, Black Myth Wukong is a bit different in that regard. Here's everything you need to know about New Game+ in GameScience's latest action RPG.

How does New Game+ work in Black Myth Wukong?
New Game+ in Black Myth Wukong is fairly standard. Once you finish the main story, i.e., defeat the Spirit of the Great Sage boss, you will be given the option to immediately embark on the journey once again, with all your unlocks and abilities from your previous playthrough. However, you can also choose not to begin New Game+ immediately after the ending.
Instead, you can choose to stay in your current save, and complete any missed optional quest or secrets that you might've missed before starting a new "Journey." You can also start New Game+ from the main menu itself by selecting Start New Journey with the completed save loaded.
New Game+ can also be launched from the save selection screen by clicking on your completed save and choosing "Continue" when prompted to start a new journey. Keep in mind that entering New Game+ will cause you to lose all key items and fast travel points, similar to how it works in most games.
Additionally, in New Game+, the difficulty and aggression of enemies as well as bosses is heightened. Think of it like how Elden Ring or Dark Souls scales difficulty in their respective New Game+ modes. However, To balance this increased challenge, the payout of Will and the XP required to gain Sparks are also substantially increased.
Lastly, if you're looking forward to getting the Platinum trophy for Black Myth Wukong, New Game+ is the best option. That way you won't have to grind for Skill Points to unlock all the upgrades and abilities in the game.
