The studio behind the popular Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is no more. The Australian division of 2K Games has been shut down permanently. 2K has stated that the decision was made in an effort to “manage ongoing development costs”. The Pre-Sequel developers are now looking for employment elsewhere, but thankfully, 2K seems to be helping them with their search.
Kotaku Au was the first to break the story, which has since been confirmed by an official statement from 2K Games:
“We can confirm we have taken steps to begin the studio closure process for 2K Australia in order to better manage ongoing development costs while improving the working proximity of our creative teams. We are very grateful for the team’s valuable contributions to numerous 2K projects, and are working with affected staff to explore reassignment opportunities where possible.”

2K Games have always aided their employees in these aspects. It was the same when Irrational Games was shut down in the past, and 2K ended up searching for jobs for their developers. GDAA’s Australian division posted a tweet on the matter:
Hopefully they are able to find a job for every single employee, though it is still great to seem working together on the matter.
For those of you who have never played The Pre-Sequel title , you can still get a copy of the game with Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.
