Five new maps are entering the CS2 map pool, and fans have been quite vocal with their thoughts on Counter-Strike's social media forums. Following the addition of Pool Day, a refurbished version of CS_Pool, Valve has already gained some praise from the community.

While several players from the CS2 community are satisfied with the current map pool, others have urged Valve to bring back more classic maps from the previous iteration of the game. In such an X post, popular Counter-Strike content creator @OzznyCS2 requested the company to bring back some iconic CS:GO maps. They mentioned this alongside posting Rialto, Lake, Austria, and Train's pictures.

Another CS2 fan, @SPHNX2002, agreed with content creator Ozzny and mentioned how Rialto and Lake were the best maps from the old pool. They commented:

"Rialto Goated map, Train was awesome and Lake same, but whenever there was a Monastery on arm race it wasn't my favorite map due to how big he is and houses have a lot of paths but still great map."

Meanwhile, @NewSmilingMe explained the current CS2 map pool scenario and also urged Valve to bring back every possible good old CS:GO map. Additionally, he mentioned that since players can now select and get individual ranks for every map from the pool, it’ll be easier for them to play whichever one they want.

However, the queue times are likely to be high. Ultimately, it’ll be the player’s choice whether they want to wait for a longer queue or play common maps for lesser queue times.

@NewSmilingMe commented:

"I know you dont wanna dilute the map pool too much for queue times sake but... literally f**k it put absolutely everything in competitive now that it's the practice for the REAL premiere mode, and that you're ranked on every map individually."

Another FPS connoisseur, @MCButters69, reminisced about their days from the past on how they used to play the maps from the old CS:GO pool on their low-end PC whenever they were feeling sad. They commented:

"Whenever I feel down I will just remember playing Monastery on my shitty work pc and trying to rank up in arms race. The most vibey map ever made."

Among the stream of positive comments about the older map pools, one fan, @SumitSai04, commented that CS2 has enough maps to play in. There is no need to include others from the older map pool. They explained their frustration over two existing maps in the current pool, named Inferno and Vertigo, and said they want those to disappear from the game forever.

On the other hand, user @donkeydain commented on how Valve only cares about profit instead of focusing on what the community wants. Moreover, fixing real issues like broken sub-tick rates, massive surges in the number of cheaters, and others definitely aren’t on the company’s checklist.

CS2 community urges Valve to bring back good-old maps from previous game

As mentioned previously, following the addition of community maps like Mills and Thera, the community has requested Valve to add other CS:GO maps as well. However, that'll most likely not be the case since CS2 has a new source engine and the developers will need a long time to recreate the maps in this iteration.

On the other hand, the company must focus on fixing other severe issues like cheating to keep its player base intact. Meanwhile, as the reports suggest, Train's reworkd is already in progress, and the developers might release it soon.
