Dynasty Warriors Origins is an action-packed RPG that lets you be a part of extensive battles of the Three Kingdoms from Chinese history. Other than the unique setting, the game has many cliches from the classic RPG formula, including a skill tree in which you allot your skill points to customize your character.
However, unlike many other RPGs, the choices you make on your skill tree in Dynasty Warriors Origins are permanent. This means you can’t respec skills in Dynasty Warriors Origins.

Unfortunately, you cannot respec your Skill Points in Dynasty Warriors Origins. Once you allocate Skill Points to specific abilities in the Skill Tree, these choices are permanent for the entire game.

The lack of a respec feature in Dynasty Warriors Origins may be attributed to the developers’ focus on making the strategic aspects of the game hard and unforgiving, just like how it is during real-life war fields.
While respec is not available, the game includes an in-depth Battle Preparation phase before major battles. During this phase, you can adjust several aspects of your character, including:
- Weapons: Equip and change weapons to suit the upcoming battle.
- Battle Arts: Choose specific Battle Arts to enhance your combat abilities.
- Gems: Customize your equipment with Gems for additional bonuses.
- Horses: Select mounts that complement your strategy.
These options allow for significant flexibility and customization, reducing the necessity for a respec feature.
While I prefer respec options in the RPG games that I play, the lack of a reset button on your skill tree is quite refreshing. It forces you to think twice before committing to a node or upgrade on the tree.

However, at first, especially during your first playthrough of the game, the lack of respec can be a little frustrating because you are still getting familiar with the skills, and high chances are you will invest in a skill path that is not very effective.
Nevertheless, with a little experimentation as well as some trial and error, you will get the hang of the skill tree eventually in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
