Black Myth Wukong features Autosave, and unfortunately for fans who’d rather turn it off, that’s not possible. There are other options you have at your disposal, such as making separate save files, and deleting those if they are no longer useful to you. However, Autosave is the primary way that the game saves files, so it’s something players are just going to have to get accustomed to as they explore this deep action RPG.

While many players are enjoying GameScience’s latest action RPG, not being able to stop autosaving can wind up frustrating players, and prevent them from backtracking in some cases. While you can’t turn off autosaving in Black Myth Wukong, you can at least have multiple saves.

Unfortunately, you cannot turn off autosave in Black Myth Wukong. However, the game supports up to 10 save files for the game, and while it does not appear that you can copy them, you can delete them if you decide you aren’t happy with your progress on one. The game autosaves pretty frequently, though. In particular, after gathering items, finding new areas, and defeating enemies/bosses like the Wandering Wight.

If you aren’t sure of when the game is autosaving, there’s a clear indicator on the screen. If you see the golden wavy line in the top-right of your screen, the game is autosaving. It’s pretty important to know when the game has autosaved for you, though. That way, you know if you’ve put yourself into a position where you’re about to get into a serious fight, and don’t have the health to survive it.

You also have the option of manually saving your game. This is a bit more restrictive - unlike many open-world action RPGs, as you can’t save just anywhere. You have to go to a Shrine if you want to save manually.

The upside is that it restores your Health, Stamina, and Focus. Just head to any Shrine you find on the map and interact with it to restore your stats and save manually if you’d like.
