The CS2 community seems enraged after Gabe Follower, a popular CS2 data miner, leaked that Valve would possibly be detecting the use of Razer’s Snap Tap technology in the title. Fans were furious and did not hesitate to express their opinions on the matter.

What bothered players was not just the fact that Snap Tap detection was a new hardware technology they had spent a lot of money on. They also believed that Valve was more concerned about trivial matters and not the poor state of the game. User SEKO even called out Valve for not being able to detect rage hacks, saying:

They can detect snap tap but can't detect rage hackers :D let's just hope we can bypass this easily.

Although there is no confirmation that Snap Tap users will get banned, the mere detection in the game code has raised awareness among gamers. X user, savaz, funnily remarked that he might even get banned for counter-strafing too fast:

Cant wait to get banned for counter strafing too fast.

Another user, Balto, pointed out how it was a classic Valve move to ignore the real issues and patch something irrelevant:

As the community was debating Valve’s ignorance and the possible reasons for one to get banned, many fans questioned whether the developer was actually going to ban Snap Tap users. X User, lancer, thought the developers were just gathering data to measure the amount of assistance the technology actually gave:

Probably just to collect data to see how much improvement the keyboard/software gives and then make a judgement based off that data to ban the use of it or not.

One user, Emil van der Maas (Elcar0), believed that Valve was probably working on gathering information for their Anti-Cheat to function properly:

What is Snap Tap and is it essential for CS2?

Snap Tap is a new technology provided by Razer in their latest keyboard models. It allows users to override the input of an already pressed key without having to release it. This results in faster execution of direction change, especially counter strafing, which is an essential part of a competitive game like CS2.

Snap Tap is, by no means, an essential technology required to master the game. Since Valve is still not addressing rage hacks and the overall poor state of the game, the community often gets excited by any additional technology that enhances their gameplay experience. This is why fans will be majorly disappointed if Valve removes Snap Tap without improving CS2.
