Seele Leaks, a prominent name in the community, has shared information that hints at Castorice's path and element, as well as a possible release window for the character. According to this leak, when Castorice becomes playable, she will be a Quantum Remembrance character.

The path of Remembrance will be introduced as a playable path in Honkai Star Rail 3.0, as showcased via Aglaea's and Remembrance Trailblazer's drip marketing.

Seele Leaks has also talked about Castorice being playable in the first half of Honkai Star Rail 3.2, which is speculated to be released in late March or early April 2025. If this turns out to be true, then Castorice will be the second limited 5-Star Remembrance unit to be released (the first being Aglaea).

A sketched version of Castorice's design was previously leaked by Seele Leaks. Now that Castorice has finally been revealed, it is evident that the leaked sketch was very close to the original, both in terms of design as well as color palette.

The Honkai Star Rail 2.7 livestream showcased the Golden Epic Trailer, where brief information regarding all the upcoming characters — the "Chrysos Heirs" — was revealed.

In a trailer, Castorice was described as the "servant of the Hand of Shadow" and the "daughter of River Styx (River of Souls)," who has some sort of connection with death and demise. The video also revealed that "frozen death will sleep peacefully at her fingertips," referencing her ties to death once again.
