Personality

Cherry has a sisterly personality type which means that she’s protective of all those she calls friends. This can easily apply to the player, should they become close friends with Cherry and she’ll even give you tips ranging from ways to relax to fighting amongst other topics. While they have a rough and tough outer attitude, sisterly villagers, like Cherry, will be the first to give you medicine when stung by wasps. Not only that, they can be seen out and about late into the night and are often the last ones to turn in. Out of all personality types, Sisterly villagers are one of the easiest to reach max friendship with.

Appearance

Cherry Animal Crossing Appearance

Cherry is a dog villager and has a very unique look that sets her apart from other dog villagers. Her main color palette is mostly red fur although that is broken up by spots of black fur, namely a patch on her left eye and black ears. She has blue eyes, a purple nose, and appears to wear earrings in her left ear. Her clothing, the first time you see her, changes from New Leaf to New Horizons.

How to get Cherry in New Horizons

Getting a villager you want in New Horizons is particularly tricky as there is only one surefire way to do so while the rest is up to luck. There are two primary methods of getting Cherry in your village; the first is using Nook Miles to fly to an island and see if she is there. Keep in mind if you do this you’ll have to have an open plot available. The second method is to wait and see if she’ll appear at your campsite. Either way both methods are based on luck, so it’s completely up to chance.

Role of Cherry in New Leaf

With her in every Animal Crossing game Cherry, naturally, appears in New Leaf as a potential villager. Much like in previous entries, you can talk and build your friendship with her although in this game you can make her a cup of coffee.

Amiibo

Cherry Amiibo

A guaranteed way to get Cherry on your island is to use her Amiibo card. Simply scan it with your Switch at the Town Hall. Keep in mind in order to do this you need to have both the Town Hall and Campsite constructed. Once you’ve invited her to your campsite, you simply need to do this three times and she’ll be part of your island!

Trivia

  1. In Cherry’s left ear, she either wears earrings or simply has a birthmark, this has never been confirmed in game.
  2. Cherry is afraid of the ghost mask.
  3. Cherry is the only sisterly dog villager.
