Mega Knight is currently one of the most successful cards in Clash Royale. Thanks to his versatility and good value, he can be used as a center for many different decks. However, many often complain about Mega Knight's simplistic playstyle, where it is seemingly possible to get away with dropping a bunch of units behind the troop to win. Since its playstyle is straightforward, many players like to label it as a 'brain dead' or 'annoying' card.
Reddit user u/DxDfan69 shared their experience about how they could not 'escape the nightmare' of facing the Mega Knight, even in the Goblin Queen's Journey. In reply to u/DxDfan69's post, u/Space_Patrol_Digger stated, "Mega Knight is far from the most annoying or braindead card in the game."
Technical-Cookie-554 exclaimed that 'it absolutely is', saying:

"Lmao it is absolutely the most braindead. Especially that evolution."
Another Reddit user, u/GrizzlyOlymics presented their opposing views to the original comment and noted:
"It’s been the most braindead card forever dude, where have you been?"
Using Goblins enough times in Goblin Queen's journey activates her ability and fires off a few goblins at the opponent's king.
Noting that the OP's opponent has no goblin card, even in the Goblin Mode, user u/Gabriel1920 remarked "Clash royale players really hate fun" since the Queen's Journey incentivizes using goblins.
The comment seemingly stresses that Mega Knight provides so much value that players deem it more useful than Goblin Queen's ability:
User u/bentlyarts claimed that increasing the deploying cost of Mega Knight by one elixir would solve the overuse problem:
"I swear to god they should make mega night 1 elixir more and it would solve it"
User u/dotsmyfavorite2 advised that the combination of Goblin Giant and Musketeer can take a crown tower if placed on the opposite lane. This tip exploits the high elixir cost of the Mega Knight:
"Punish their push with Goblin Giant and Musketeer push in the opposite lane. Takes a tower every time."
User u/AplhaYak noted that OP's deck does not seem much fun to play against either. However, the overuse of MK (Mega Knight) has become excessive:
"Your deck looks way less fun to play against to me. But I get it, the MK brainrot has got to be out of control by now"
The most 'annoying' or 'braindead' Clash Royale card is subjective
The topic of the 'most annoying' troop is a subjective one. Mega Knight gets brought up in this conversation as players find him difficult to counter. Additionally, it has a high use rate, and its evolution being given away for free will make this problem worse for some players.
However, Mega Knight can be countered by using a few different decks. One such option is by using this PEKKA deck:
PEKKA Beatdown
- PEKKA (7 elixir)
- Barbarians (5 elixir)
- Skeleton King (3 elixir)
- Void (3 elixir)
- Night Witch (4 elixir)
- Skeleton Dragons (4 elixir)
- Arrows (3 elixir)
- Freeze (4 elixir)
This deck runs PEKKA as the main attacker, while Void, Skeleton Dragons, Night Witch, and Barbarians provide support. It works well against Mega Knight as PEKKA has a high attack stat, which is beneficial in countering tanks.
Other units like Barbarians and Skeleton King can be viable options against Mega Knight if used with the Freeze Spell.
