Cloud9’s coach has brought in an exceptional trio featuring Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko (from OG), Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov9 (from AMKAL), and Timofey "interz" Yakushin (from TSM). Earlier, electroNic was acquired by Virtus.Pro in April. Meanwhile, Perfecto and HObbit got benched due to their poor performances in early 2024.
C9 fans wanted a fresh start ahead of their upcoming BLAST and Shanghai Major 2024 matches. Hence, the NA Giants were in search of a trio that could help them restore their former glory in the Counter-Strike esports scene.
After a long search, the organization has finally added rifler Heavygod, who has a 1.12 rating in the early stages of 2024. Additionally, according to his recent social media posts, he can communicate in Russian. This will be a massive help for Boombl4 and Ax1Le to have someone on the team who knows their native language.
ICY is also a great addition to this roster. This 19-year-old AWPer recently had his first-ever pro LAN experience at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. Despite his team failing to qualify for the playoffs, the prodigy had showcased a stellar performance.
Lastly, it’s a homecoming for the flex player interz as he was an integral part of the Cloud9 squad during 2022-23. He is most likely to fit in perfectly with the team and provide numerous exceptional performances throughout 2024.
With the addition of these three exceptional players, the Cloud9 squad looks like this:
- Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov (IGL)
- Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov
- Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko
- Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov
- Timofey "interz" Yakushin
- Konstantin "groove" Pikiner (coach)
They look promising and all geared up for the rest of the 2024 Season.
