Encounter Points is an in-game system in Genshin Impact that lets you accumulate points after performing certain tasks, such as collecting chests and completing quests. Genshin Impact Encounter Points system explained

Encounter Points is an in-game system in Genshin Impact that lets you claim commission rewards by completing certain tasks. Every day you can accomplish some tasks while exploring or playing events and obtain up to four Encounter Points. For each Encounter Point, you can claim one commission reward.

You can check your daily Encounter Point Stage Rewards progress in the Adventurer's Handbook (book icon) next to the Wish option. Note that the Encounter Points system reset every day with the daily reset.

The point distribution differs for each activity, meaning that one task might give you one full point, but another can give you only a fraction.

Here's a list of all the activities that you can do to obtain Encounter Points:

• 4 Encounter Points: Complete Archon Quests and Character Story Quests (shorter quests might give fewer points).
• 1 Encounter Point: Opening Luxurious Chests in the Shrine of Depths
• 0.5 Encounter Point: Opening Chests and collecting Oculi, Crimson Agate, Lumenspar, Plumes of Purifying Light, and Spirit Carp
• Differing amounts: Claiming event rewards, accomplishing World Quests, and completing a Hangout Event for the first time. The Encounter Points obtained from these sources are not fixed and may vary depending on the type of content you engage in.

On the other hand, here's a list of tasks that won't earn you any Encounter Points in Genshin Impact:

• Opening Chests in Domains, quests, and Hidden Exploration Objectives.
• Opening Mora Chests since they are not actually Treasure Chests
• Obtaining additional rewards from unlocking Hangout memories
• Claiming Character Trial rewards
• Obtaining rewards from Ley Line Overflow
• Doing Weekly Bounties and Requests.

Once you've accumulated enough Encounter Points (4), you can claim all the commission rewards from the Adventurer's Book before heading to Katheryne to obtain additional rewards.

Long-term Encounter Points

Long-Term Encounter Points is a new quality-of-life update introduced in Genshin Impact 4.8. Every extra Point gained after hitting the Encounter Point limit will be converted into Long-Term Encounter Points.

If you have not reached full Encounter Points, you can consume Original Resin to convert the Long-Term Points and get commission rewards. The conversion rate is 30 Resin and one Long-Term Point for one commission reward.

Another thing to note is that, unlike the Encounter Point, Long-Term Encounter Points you earn will only reset when a new update is released.
