Control's biggest strength by far seems to be its combat and gameplay design. Keep in mind that Control is not a cover-based shooter. It's good to see a game this generation which encourages mobility during combat. Jesse can easily levitate across the floor, shooting enemies in mid-air or throwing objects at them.

Talking about the shooting, in Control Jesse only has a single weapon which is the service weapon. Its look is deceiving though as the service weapon is convertible. It is actually an 'object of power' and like wands in Harry Potter, it chose Jesse as her master (if that makes sense) and hence she is made the new Director of FBC.

The service weapon has multiple forms, varying from one fitted for short range combat or a long-range one. At a given time, the player can swap between two forms. For example, the 'grip' is the default form of the weapon and serves as a basic revolver with a recoil which is good for long ranged combat.

On the other hand, 'shatter' is somewhat an option for close range and serves more like a shotgun. And then there's 'spin' which acts more like an SMG and has higher fire rate but less accuracy when compared to the grip.

Aside from the service weapon, Jesse also has a variety of abilities such as telekinesis abilities such as 'launch' which players can use throw different objects on the enemies. Another ability is called 'shield' which players can use to create a shield from the various objects scattered around the environment.

All of these abilities seem really fun and since Control features a destructible environment, players will get to be creative which will result in a rich gameplay experience.
