The realm of IRL (in real life) livestreaming has become a captivating and often controversial aspect of online content creation. Many streamers' relentless pursuit of shock value and increased viewership has led these content creators to cross ethical boundaries. Exploring 5 most controversial IRL livestreaming moments, featuring Ice Poseidon, Logan Paul, and more

1) Ice Poseidon gets swatted

American YouTuber and livestreamer Paul "Ice Poseidon" has been a controversial and polarizing figure since his early days. With his incredibly toxic community of fans that revel in acting out due to Denino's unpredictable and chaotic content, Paul has fallen victim to swatting incidents during a number of different IRL streams.

Despite the frequency of getting swatted, Ice Poseidon was permanently banned from Twitch after one of his viewers made a bomb threat for a flight Ice was boarding. The incident not only endangered the streamer's life, who was then probed extensively by the police, but it also highlighted the serious consequences such malicious pranks can have on IRL streamers.

2) Dr DisRespect streams from a bathroom

One of the most infamous and controversial incidents in the world of livestreaming involved popular streamer and YouTuber Herschel "Dr DisRespect" himself. During a broadcast at the E3 gaming expo, he absent-mindedly entered a public restroom while continuing to stream.

As one may expect after filming in a sensitive location like a public restroom and actively breaking Californian state law, Herschel was widely criticized for invading the privacy of others present in the restroom. Fans also expressed their disappointment for the potential legal implications of filming in a location where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

This momentary lapse of judgment by the charismatic streamer led to a suspension from the E3 event as well as a ban from Twitch. It ultimately proved to be a catalyst for Dr DisRespect's switch to YouTube Live.

3) Suspendas' livestreams

Arguably the most controversial IRL streamer across any imaginable platform, Avrom "Suspendas" is no stranger to making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The American content creator currently resides in Japan, where he livestreams his daily travels around the country. Most recently, Suspendas was arrested in Nepal for allegedly asking an underage girl to marry him.

This is not against the norm when it comes to Avrom and his on-air antics as he appeared completely naked on his debut KICK stream. He then proceeded to broadcast himself participating in s*xual activities with an alleged s*x worker, s*xually assaulting two intoxicated women, and indulging in s*xual acts in front of a minor.

4) Logan Paul's Aokigahara Forest video

For YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul, the 2017 Aokigahara Forest video was a turning point in his then-soaring career. The Maverick was known for his eccentric behavior in his vlogs and even though this predates IRL streaming, this incident was influential in shaping how we view content today.

For the uninitiated, Japan's Aokigahara Forest is also known as the s*icide forest due to the sheer magnitude of people who have killed themselves there. During one of his vlogs exploring the region surrounding the forest and the forest itself, Paul stumbled upon the body of a deceased person and filmed it, further proceeding to upload it to his main channel.

This caused outrage for its insensitivity and lack of respect for the gravity of the situation. It sparked discussions about responsible content creation and the ethical boundaries of sharing sensitive subjects, which ultimately led to Paul doing some deep work to come out as a better person on the other side.

5) Asian Andy's donation chaos

Another vlog entry to wrap up this list, Asian-American IRL streamer Steven Chau, popularly known as Asian Andy found himself marred in controversy after his livestream went rogue. This happened thanks to a number of ill-timed and "edgy" text-to-speech donations that were being played out loud.

Thanks to the maturity of Steven's viewers, a multitude of offensive and inappropriate messages were repeatedly read aloud. This caused disruption and created an uncomfortable environment for all parties unfortunate enough to be in Asian Andy's vicinity.

This, however, was not an isolated incident. Steven has been found guilty of intentionally partaking in similar livestreams for more views and engagement.
