Crossplay in 7 Days to Die is currently in a tricky situation where it is enabled for the supported platforms but features some restrictions. Is there crossplay in 7 Days to Die?

Yes, there is crossplay in 7 Days to Die. However, it currently does not connect all supported platforms. So, players from PCs cannot play with anyone using consoles. However, Steam users can connect with other PC players who use the Windows Store. So anyone with an Xbox Game Pass can play with other fans of 7 Days to Die from Steam.

PlayStation and Xbox users can play together by taking advantage of peer-to-peer lobby hosting. Unfortunately, the chances of this method working are quite low as the console version has not been supported for a long time.

The developers seem to have planned a complete crossplay feature for the game in the future. However, this update might only arrive with the first big patch for 7 Days to Die. How to play crossplay in 7 Days to Die?

Here is a quick guide that players can use to enable crossplay on PC for Steam and Xbox Game Pass owners:

  • Boot up the game, go to the “Continue Game” option, and choose a server from the “General” tab on the right.
  • Here, you can choose the visibility of the server on the public list and set a password to disable random players from joining in.
  • The visibility can be changed so that only your friends can see it on the server list.
  • Similarly, you can join a different server by selecting the “Join A Game” option from the main menu. Filter out all the servers by searching for the exact server name.
  • After you click search, a set of results should appear on a list. From here, you need to click on the icon that shows two characters standing side-by-side for all servers that are hosting peer-to-peer.
  • Choose the server and click on Connect to join the game. You will need to enter a password if it is required to enter into the private game.
  • Once the connection is established, you can start playing the horror survival game and gathering resources with your friends.
