Crusader Kings 2 newest expansion Way of Life to release next week

Paradox Interactive’s Crusader Kings 2 got its eighth expansion ‘Charlemagne’ this past October. The expansion was set during the rise of Charlemagne and contained a lot of new features including the ability to create custom empires, seasonal transitions, as well as a new time period.

So this definitely kept players entertained by keeping the game fresh with all its new features, and it turns out that Paradox Interactive has another expansion planned for the game, this time titled the ‘Way of Life’.

Expansion to allow players free prisoners

Way of Life is going to be a much smaller expansion compared to the games last one, but it will still offer some exciting new features like new events. Players will now have the ability to challenge foes to a duel and even free prisoners.

This DLC will focus more on the roleplaying aspect of the game instead of generally managing and expanding your kingdom. Now players will have to build up their characters personality by their decisions in the game which helps take the games role-playing aspect to a new level.

A recent press release by Paradox Interactive states the following:

"Dispatch foes by challenging them to duels, choose who to seduce, break up with lovers, spy on people, free prisoners from captivity, and more are now available to players."

Way of Life will contain new actions and decisions that players will have to make including seducing other characters, spying and much more. Players will also have the ability to choose a ‘focus’. Here is the list of ‘focuses’ this expansion will contain:

• Rulership – Be a better king!• Business – Gold is good• Hunting – Kill the beast!• War – What’s yours is mine• Family – the most important thing, right?• Carousing – ahem• Seduction – double ahem• Intrigue – sneaky, sneak• Scholarship – We love to learn• Theology – Do it for the big guy upstairs

Focuses will determine what events players might receive during the gameplay. It will also shape your characters development as well as give them an immediate boost. So while The Way of Life might not be Crusader Kings 2 largest expansion, it certainly enriches the roleplay elements of the game.

The Way of Life expansion will be available next week, on the 16th of December for the Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems. The expansion is priced at $7.99.
