The 2024 season of competitive CS2 has now concluded. We witnessed some of the best gameplay, and viewership peaked with millions of concurrent viewers, especially during high-tier tournaments such as the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. Throughout the year, we saw many underdogs outperform some of the most reputable CS2 pro teams. Not only this, but we saw some of the biggest teams not even make it to the playoffs of some events.

Team roster changes every few months are quite common in the esports industry. There could be various reasons behind the transfer of players from one team to another or benching them. This article includes the biggest roster changes in the high-tier competitive CS2 scene in 2024.

Do note that this list does not include loaned player transfers such as Oleksandr “S1mple” Oleghovych Kostyljev, who was loaned by Natus Vincere to Team Falcons temporarily. Moreover, there are various rumored transfers that await official information so they are not added yet. One of the biggest rumors that is yet to be confirmed is the transfer of Ropz from FaZe Clan to Team Vitality.

Some of the teams have put an end to their competitive CS2 journey. Despite numerous transfers, TSM failed to build a strong team and ended up disbanding. After the allegations of not paying the players, notable Tier 2 teams BLEED Esports also disbanded in November 2024. Other notable teams that disbanded this year are: Apeks, Entropiq, Evil Geniuses, and Grayhound Gaming. All these teams had multiple S-tier tournament appearances.
