Team Fortress 2 has been in bad shape for some time with millions of players review-bombing the game. Recent Steam reviews have been overwhelmingly negative for Valve's multiplayer title and now, a TF2 player has a grim prediction for the future of CS2. User u/Maximillian_The_II took to Reddit to address the current issues with Counter-Strike 2, including the many cheaters, lack of regular new content, and other problems.
They warned players about how the FPS game is slowly but surely replicating the downfall of TF2.
Fans on Reddit were clearly concerned by how accurate the comparison between the two games seemed. Team Fortress 2 has received almost no new content and the game is filled with bots and cheaters. Many have even quit playing it.

One player noted how they had already gone ahead and uninstalled CS2. Reddit user u/Ok_Baseball_2857 clearly had enough of the many issues plaguing the game. They said:
"I uninstalled some weeks ago."
Another CS2 enthusiast, u/Paciuuu noted how many other competitive gaming games often get regular updates, but minor updates are not enough to help the current state of Valve's most popular title.
These complaints are not new to Valve. Players often take to Reddit and other social media platforms to voice their dissatisfaction with the game. Even a former CS:GO major winner, Adam Friberg, suggested a change in the existing sub-tick system. Perhaps this was why u/zed0K expressed how they've heard it all before.
"I've heard this before. It's all true, but it's an echo chamber."
Meanwhile, some players were not as unhappy with the current state of the game which was first released as a mod of Half-Life. One Redditor, u/jogeer, spoke about how they were pleased with the game. They said:
"I like CS2, I don’t encounter much cheaters, it’s a great game. I’m unsubbing this whine fest, the biggest problem with CS2 is the community."
Finally, one observer, u/nolimits59, pointed out how it is difficult to compare the two games since TF2 has a much smaller player base than Counter-Strike 2. They suggested that Valve is perhaps a little overwhelmed with the issues persisting in the latter title.
Why are fans so upset with CS2?
Many fans became unhappy with Valve after CS2's 25th anniversary. Several trusted leakers like Ozzny had speculated the coming of a new operation which would have added plenty of new content to the game.
Unfortunately, this did not happen. So, on top of the issue with cheaters, bots, and overall playability, the lack of an anticipated event further angered fans. However, Valve had never announced any big operation. It was merely speculation by leakers, and part of the leaks came true as the developers added multiple new workshops to the game.
Perhaps, there is still hope for the dissatisfaction to be undone in the long run.
