CS2 Dust 2 lineup guide: Best nades, smokes, and more

Dust 2 is one of the most iconic maps in Counter-Strike history, and remains a popular choice in the active map pool. Like any other map, knowing key lineups makes defending and attacking bomb sites easier, including setups for Smokes and Molotovs.

Dust 2 has a rather significant mid-area where the Double Doors leave open some space for the two teams to see each other. This gap is usually where snipers battle it out with their AWPs and is also often covered up by smoke from either party.

It is vital to talk about some callouts that are commonly used to refer to some locations on the map. These will help make it easier to understand the execution of all the lineups in the article.

CS2 Dust 2 - A Site

Smokes

Smoke lineups are often necessary for the T-side players because they may need to smoke up certain areas before even reaching close to them. Meanwhile, CTs have control of sites where they can smoke off all entrances by simply aiming and throwing the grenade.

Keeping that in mind, here are some smoke lineups for pulling up flawless offensive executions from the T-side.

Xbox: Xbox is the box right below the Catwalk adjacent to the Double Doors in the middle. To make it through Catwalk and to Stairs from A Short, line up your reticle from T Spawn as shown in the image. Keep it roughly at the bottom left of the window and execute a jump throw. The smoke will land on Xbox and cover the CTs' view of Catwalk entirely.

CT Spawn Cross: To execute from A Long, cover up CT spawn's view as you cross to A Site. Line up your reticle roughly to the left of the metal antenna and do a running throw. This will cover up the cross between A Long and Site.

Stairs: CTs can shoot you as you walk from Stairs to A Site. Line up your reticle right above the window over a darker spot on the wall as shown in the image and execute a left-click throw. This will cover up the CTs' view from A Car and Site as you walk onto the site. Flash out of the smokes for maximum advantage on CS2 Dust 2.

Flashbangs

A Long: Line up your reticle at the bottom of the Palm Tree after tucking yourself close to the wall as shown in the image. Now, execute a jump throw to flash anyone holding outside of the doors on A Long, even close to the pit area.

Double Doors: You can split from CT spawn if need be trying to get to A. To flash anyone right outside Double Doors, tuck yourself close to Xbox as shown in the image and do a simple left-click throw, this will blind any enemies holding right outside of the doors.

Molotovs

A Site: This Molotov can help both Ts and CTs from Stairs. Aim the reticle roughly toward the tree as shown in the image. Ensure it lines up with the wall below and do a running throw. This will set the entire plant area on fire making it an effective post-plant and retake strategy.

CS2 Dust 2 - B Site

Smoke

B Window: Tuck yourself in this corner and on the wall, you may see two tiny dots in the texture somewhat resembling a Colon. Aim at the upper dot and execute a jump throw to smoke off B Window.

B Doors: This second smoke can be thrown right away with the B Window smoke, align your crosshair with the textures as shown in the image. This smoke is rather forgiving so line up the crosshair roughly as much as possible and execute a jump throw. This will smoke off the doors preventing CTs from seeing you as you enter B Site.

Flashbang

B Site: Aim at the window as shown in the image and execute a running throw just as you try to enter the site. This is a very potent CS2 Dust 2 lineup as it flashes everyone present on-site.

Molotov

B Plat Back: Tuck yourself into the corner on top of both the boxes right outside B Doors. Once you're tucked in there, turn around and aim at the dot textures on the door as shown in the image. Finally, execute a jump throw to light up the entirety of B Plat Back. This lineup can be used by Ts or CTs on CS2 Dust 2.

Using grenades of all varieties effectively in CS2 Dust 2 can seem like a daunting task. However, in reality, the map has some of the easiest and most commonly used lineups thanks to its popularity.

The map is rather small and its size ultimately aids the grenade plays because you often don't need complicated lineups like on Vertigo or Mirage. This makes it easy to smoke off major areas, such as B Doors or Double Doors, by simply doing throw with the area in sight. However, Lineups surely help do it better.
