CS2 Vertigo lineup guide: Best nades, smokes, flashes, and more

CS2 Vertigo lineup guide: Best nades, smokes, flashes, and more
CS2 Vertigo post recent changes (Image via X/@heroicgg)

The CS2 Vertigo map recently received a small retouch on some structural areas on bombsite A. Due to these changes made on the 23rd May updates, some lineups and strategies may need to be tweaked. This is important because Vertigo is a touchstone map, which means it did not get any major remakes since its CS:GO days.

Here is a list of some important callouts, smokes, grenades, and flashes for Vertigo, which can help execute efficient and powerful strategies.

Everything you need to know about CS2 Vertigo

As mentioned before, the CS2 Vertigo map underwent some recent changes alongside other maps with the 23rd May update. These changes were largely centered around the A Site. It includes a new catwalk that connects to A Backsite, the connecter between A Elevator and back A being removed and small changes to the size of the site.

Here are some callouts to keep in mind while playing the map in CS2.

Map Callouts

Some of the most vital callouts for the CS2 Vertigo map are A Site, B Site, and Mid. Then, some other important areas that lead to these major sites are Elevator, Stairs, and A Ramp.

Vertigo A-site

Smokes

Smoke lineups are required for the T side because of one very important reason. They may need to block off major areas so that the CTs anticipating their arrival can't see them coming.

On the other hand, smokes for CTs on the CS2 Vertigo map are relatively simpler, if they want to stop pushes since they have more access to the entrances to the site.

Elevator: To smoke off the Elevator on Vertigo while entering the A site through A ramp. Climb up A Ramp a little and find the sandbags on the left edge of the wall.

Now, tuck yourself behind the sandbag and into the wall. Line up your reticle with the metal beam as shown in the picture and execute a jump throw to smoke up the Elevator.

A Heaven: To smoke off A Heaven, climb up A Ramps and head directly into the right corner with the '51' sign written on the wall. Tuck yourself into the sandbags and the yellow wall.

Now, crouch and aim up at the very top of the building at the metal beam as shown in the picture. Now do a jump-throw to smoke off A Heaven for a safe entry on CS2 Vertigo.

Grenades

Elevator to A Ramp: To stop an aggressive push dead in its tracks, move forward and a little bit outside of the Elevator.

Move to the left side of the wall and into the corner and aim at the center of the orange traffic cone as shown in the image. Now do a right-click jump throw to send a Molotov right at A Ramp.

Elevator to A Ramp: Another quick lineup from the same spot is with a grenade. Look towards the left side after throwing your Molotov and aim at the wall as shown in the image.

Then, left click to send a grenade down to take enemys' health down even further.

Vertigo B-Site

Smoke

Pit to B Backsite: Go to the Pit area in the map just outside of B site. Here, locate a massive wooden box and sandbags right below the stairs.

Tuck yourself into the corner created by these two objects and crouch under the box to look up at its edge. Now after lining your reticle up as shown in the image, stand up and do a left-click throw.

B Site to B Platform (Image via YouTube/@CS2Tactics)

B Site to B Platform: To execute, tuck yourself into the leftmost corner of the catwalk on the left of the stairs as soon as you walk up to the site.

Now, aim at the bottom of the bottom corner of the white containers right before B Platform as shown in the image, and do a jump throw. This will smoke off the B Platform. This lineup is also effective with a Molotov.

Grenades

B Site to Stairs: To stop an aggressive push from the Ts, equip your Incendiary grenade and aim at the corner of the wall that supports the Stair region. This is visible in the image.

Now do a little running left-click throw to light the entrance below Stairs on fire on CS2 Vertigo.

B Backsite to Default: To stop a default plant or clear that particular area, tuck yourself into the right pillar as shown in the image.

Aim between the two sandbags visible and slightly move the reticle downwards. Do a jump throw to let the Molotov light up the plant on the B Site of CS2 Vertigo.

Mid

Smokes

Mid to B Platform: Once you've secured mid, to go to the A Site, smoke off Platform on CS2 Vertigo by tucking yourself into the leftmost corner of the wall as soon as you enter mid.

Locate the massive wooden box and aim upwards in the center of the blue beam as shown in the image. Do a simple left click to smoke off B Platform.

Mid to Mid Top A: Now, to go to B through B Platform instead, smoke off Mid Top that allows access to A site. Tuck yourself into the same box mentioned in the earlier CS2 Vertigo lineup.

Look to your left and find the metal pole as shown in the image. Aim at it and do a W-running throw for a little boost. This smoke will cover up the entrances towards A Site allowing smooth entry into B.

Grenades

Mid to T Corridor: To strike out Ts aggressing from the T Corridor in CS2 Vertigo, quickly run up to the box in Mid as shown in the image and do a running throw aiming at the wall directly visible in front of you.

Mid to T Corridor: This lineup will deal damage as soon as Ts enter the Corridor area from the stairs. Tuck yourself into the outward edge of the box right outside the Corridor's exit.

Aim below on the ground as shown in the image and do a jumping middle click throw with a grenade.

Dealing damage on CS2 Vertigo with flashes is a little bit simpler and does not necessarily require lineups. More importantly, all the lineups mentioned in the post also happen to work for flashbangs as well. As a general rule of thumb, do jump throws and flash over objects while entering sites to blind your enemy and secure a frag.

The CS2 Vertigo map is still one of the most interesting maps to play on and with IEM Dallas also being played with the new version, the entertaining strategies have already come into play.
