Dark Souls II PC: Plot, requirements and release date

Japan’s From Software and Namco Bandai Games(Tekken) will release their new action role-playing game titled Dark Souls II for the PC platform on April 25, 2014.

The indirect sequel which has been rocking the Ps3 and Xbox consoles since it was released in March is now waiting to hit the stores for the Microsoft Windows platform.

It will include higher resolution textures, an enhanced frame rate option and keyboard and mouse control support, as well as gamepad support.

Pre-purchase of the PC version is currently available for digitally through Steam with access to ten early access weapons and shields along with a host of digital extras, including the original game soundtrack, an art book of concept drawings, characters and enemies in PDF format and the Dark Souls II digital comic book.

After the breakthrough success of Dark Souls (9.5/10 GameSpot, 9.0/10 IGN) in 2011, Dark Souls II was announced at Spike Video Game Awards on December 7, 2012. Hidetaka Miyazaki, who served as the director for the first part,returns as a supervisor of the game.

The story is set in an open world environment where the protagonist is in the form of a cursed male traveller searching for a cure to shred off the curse. The events are set in the same world although they have no links to its predecessor as pointed out by game directors Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura.

The third person view will follow the character in the land of Drangleic which is populated by the Undead and he will have to collect the ‘Four Grand Souls’ in order to fight off the curse that will keep his humanity intact.
