Valve's upcoming MOBA 6v6 shooter, Deadlock, is currently running in early development where players can only access the game via friend invites. Despite the game's under-work state, it has already obtained an esports team from the organization called Nouns Esports. The organization has established a reputation with its Dota 2 roster and additionally has a CS2 team.
On September 25, 2024, the organization announced an esports team for Valve's upcoming title. Here are more details regarding the team and its players.

Deadlock has not been officially released yet. Not only that, it doesn't even have an actual release date to begin with. Yet, the hype around the game is rather massive and draws thousands of players to its servers every day. Its most recent 24-hour player count peak sits at about 109,000 players according to Steam Charts.
It is only natural that an organization would find the enthusiasm to create a professional roster for the game. If anything, Nouns Esports now has the chance to gear up and get into the idea of competing professionally, keeping them ready for when the game launches. Perhaps, the various Deadlock community tournaments might have also helped push the idea of having a pro team.
Here are all the players on the Nouns Esports roster:
- PoofikCat
- bungus
- et
- l0ckj4w
- cruise
- OPP
The players are not incredibly well known, but it seems like the organization is rather excited about having a roster. Valve has not made any official announcements regarding the professional scenario around the title as of right now. This is likely because the game has not seen a full release just yet. Furthermore, Deadlock also lacks an anti-cheat system which is essential for a professional gaming environment.
Nouns Esports player et is a professional Dota 2 caster and hence has quite the experience when it comes to the MOBA genre of the game. Apart from him, other players seem to have not much of a professional competitive gaming experience. A lot of them including l0ckj4w and PoofikCat are streamers and content creators with their channels on Twitch.
Since the game isn't out yet, the current playerbase is still small compared to what the game could potentially achieve upon release. If organizations like Nouns Esports are ready to invest in the professional gaming market for the title, then perhaps Valve could announce tournaments as soon as the game launches.
